Exams: Complete
I took my last exam today (the subject was Databases—it went fine). And it's not just "last exam this quarter" or even this year. It was my last exam. Ever. That's it. School is practically over now, save for a few things. Holy crap, this is scary.

Suspiciously Delicious
The other day, I picked up a new brand of bread called Finax Gyllengrova Havre (Swedish for “Golden Oats”, very roughly translated). And I'm seriously beginning to wonder what the heck they did to this thing, because it's the most delicious bread I've had in a long time. To make my confusion even worse, the bread is keyhole certified (a mark given to food products in Sweden if they fulfill certain requirements of being “healthy”, such as low fat and sugar contents—basically, keyhole foods are supposed to be healthier than other foods). In other words, I can't figure out what the catch is. Did they lace this stuff with heroin or something?
Assuming I'm not going to die from an oat overdose tomorrow morning, this bread is awesome. Pick some up if you're Swedish, you'll like it.

Creep Store
Posted on September 13 2007 — personal, crazy rant — 4 comments
Have you ever been at the grocery store, just doing your shopping as usual, and suddenly noticed that there seems to be a lot of creepy people shopping that day? That guy who sort of lurches around and looks funny at everyone. That elderly gentleman who's clearly not entirely there. That middle-aged woman who's wrinkled beyond her age with a smoker's cough and a basket full of nothing but cheap beer. And that's when your mind starts wandering.
It's the same store you've always shopped in but suddenly, you begin to wonder if this is a creep store. A store where only creepy people go to shop. Maybe you're a creep—you sure don't feel like one, but the creepiest people rarely realize that they are. Or worse, you're not, but have just been too inept to notice before and have been going to this store for years like an idiot.
Actually now that you think about it, some of the prices here seem kind of high. Surely no sane person would go shop here, where everything's so expensive. Why did you never think of that before? Then again that other item is cheaper than elsewhere, so maybe you are an island of sanity in a sea of creepy people after all. But it sure doesn't always feel that way, does it?
Or am I just crazy?

Effin' Sweet
My parents were here today, to celebrate my birthday (it's tomorrow, the 13th), and as a present, they got me a Samsung SyncMaster 225BW—22 inches of pure widescreen TFT beauty. And it's really awesome. Going from an old, crummy CRT to this baby, running at a sweet 1680x1050 (the maximum my card can handle—I could never run anything this high on my previous monitor) is really, really cool. This is so much nicer, in so many ways—not least of all it's better on my eyes since I don't have to strain to read text any more. Thanks, mom and dad. I love you both.

10 Songs on Shuffle
My good friend Elver challenged me and others to open up our music playlists and play the first 10 songs on shuffle. Sadly, when I did that, about 60% of the list ended up being songs ripped directly from Final Fantasy games, which I had to discount since I wouldn't really listen to them normally.
